On this episode of the podcast, my good friend, the amazingly talented, great-hearted and kind-hearted Dr. Ben Carson, takes on the question “What do you do with your vodka.” He explains how the alcohol that he consumes, and the vodka that he drinks, has a profound effect and affects him differently than it does the rest of us. He explains that alcohol makes you more alert and awake, and we should all be more aware of the effects alcohol has on us.
Dr. Carson’s podcast is a must-listen every week. It’s the only place in the world where you’ll find a doctor who has both an academic and clinical background explaining the science behind his work. The best part? Dr. Carson’s podcasts are all entirely free, and he doesn’t charge money or anything.
Dr. Carsons is a professor at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He’s not an alcoholic, and he uses vodka to study the effects of alcohol on the body. He explains that the brain and the body are separated by a membrane called the blood-brain barrier. Alcohol actually causes the brain to leak blood into the blood-brain barrier, which allows the alcohol to cross into the brain. Dr.
Carsons says that a significant percentage of the people who drink a lot of alcohol are unable to metabolize alcohol, which makes it easier for the alcohol to affect the brain. That’s also why people who drink a lot of alcohol are prone to memory loss and other cognitive difficulties.
In the trailer we’ve had the director, the mysterious bartender, and a few other guys who have been filming the trailer. None of them are so paranoid that they could be doing any kind of harm to the protagonist. They also have a long history of alcoholism and were the victims of a crime that took place on Blackreef.
While the trailer wasn’t as explicit as the previous two trailers, I think we can infer that alcohol might play a role in the character Colt’s memory loss and other cognitive difficulties. One of the things that makes Blackreef so deadly is our ability to use alcohol as a super weapon, something that the trailer seems to hint at. We also know that this was the last party for most of the Visionaries, so that makes sense.
I feel like we can probably figure out the rest, but I think the trailer offers a great glimpse of what to expect from the game. It’s also really cool to think that, since this is the last party for most of the Visionaries, we can go on a really great adventure.
We’ve also heard that Deathloop will be part of the first-person shooter genre, and since the trailer is full of shooting and guns, I have a feeling it will be fun. I also love that we have to kill someone to get the party started again, but I don’t know if I can stop thinking about Blackreef. I can’t stop thinking about the Visionaries.
I’ve had the chance to get in touch with Arkane for a bit, but I was not able to go into the details about the game. This is a big one. As soon as I get in touch with him, I’ll post about it.
The first-person shooter genre is one that is relatively new, so it can be a bit hard to tell whether it will be a good or bad thing for us gamers. The fact that it is going to be something that isn’t entirely new, and hasn’t been around for very long, suggests that it will be a bit more interesting and challenging than its predecessors; which is always a good sign.
