The watermelon is a perfect choice for summer, especially if you don’t really have to worry about boiling it down for too long. I have heard that watermelon is one of my favorite foods because it’s so good without the bitter taste of it. But I don’t buy watermelons. They are made from scratch and can be easily cut into small bits, made into a salad, or tossed with fruit, veggies, or just plain.
You can always make some salad with your favorite salad-making ingredients for just about any occasion. But you can have some fun if you want to add a little bit of salt, a little bit of vinegar, or a little bit of fresh herbs.
For more than 70 years watermelon has been associated with the idea of drinking water and, as a side note, there’s a pretty good reason for that. Watermelon is the best source of vitamin C in the world. Its also the best source of vitamin A. So if you want to get an extra dose of vitamin A, you can’t go wrong with a watermelon. But I really don’t think it is a good idea to eat watermelon on a regular basis.
I could have sworn I saw a recipe for watermelon salad on the internet that called for cucumbers, but I’ve stopped believing that.
The thing is, this is a really good excuse for watermelon to be used as a condiment. It’s been called a “superfood” by many nutritionists because it has a high concentration of beta-carotene, a precursor to vitamin A. It also has a high concentration of vitamin C which helps fight off free radicals, which cause cancer and aging.
Like most condiments, the two major ingredients, water and oil, are both sources of calories. Both of us use cucumbers as a salad but not as a condiment. Watermelon is usually used as a substitute for cucumbers and other fruits. In fact, the first watermelon salad that I ever ate was made out of watermelon, and I was so impressed that I still get a lot of watermelon whenever I’m in the mood for a fresh salad.
It’s still pretty raw, but the new Deathloop trailer reveals that the game will be watermelon flavored. We’ll see why in the video after the jump.
